Lofa Tatupu recently explained to Stuart Varney of FOX Business the reason he started his own CBD company, Zonein, is because CBD drastically transformed his life after retiring as an NFL player.
And now he wants to pay it forward.
Tatupu said he was in serious pain, mostly due to sports-related injuries and inflammation, which caused his career to end too soon.
“I still had some prime years left in me,” he said. “That’s what I hope to give back or show players that are coming towards the end of their careers in several sports, not just the NFL. We are meant to move… Why are we going to stop?”
It’s not all talk with Tatupu, though: the results speak for themselves.
“[After] ten surgeries, multiple concussions – the mind-body connection was just not there anymore. And so that’s what it’s given me back… I’m in the gym every day, I’m no longer taking anti-inflammatories – or even a sleeping aid – so there’s a multitude of benefits with it.”
CBD (cannabidiol) has been in the news quite a lot recently, largely due to its touted therapeutic abilities – as testified by stories such as Tatupu’s.
Most CBD products are based in hemp, a cannabis plant with naturally low levels of the psychoactive compound THC. This gives the benefits of the plant without the “high”.
